I have lived in Reading all my life, from attending Blagdon nursery to the University. I am heavily involved in education being an Economics teacher at a local comprehensive School and a Governor at The Ridgeway. In my spare time I follow Reading FC and have had a season ticket for many years.
I have been enjoying speaking to residents and getting to know their concerns. In the last year I have spoken to hundreds of local residents and campaigned for pot holes to be repaired and local clean ups to be undertaken, leading a clean up of both the Cowsey and Shinfield Park.
Priorities for next year include to continue to listen and act on residents concerns, help develop the Ridgeway School further as a Governor and to work with the Lottery Big Local fund to deliver projects for the local community. It is important that someone is listening and standing up for the residents of Church Ward, someone who understands their concerns and works to help improve the area.
After being elected in May 2014 Ash is vice-chair of the Adult Social care, Children’s services and education committee as well as being on the planning committee.
